SolarFast dyes only develop colour and become permanent upon exposure to sunlight. This means SolarFast may be used to create detailed photographs, photograms, and shadow prints on paper or fabric by harnessing the power of the sun.
Anything you place on the painted surface to block the light will create a printed impression in a matter of minutes, whether a solid object, a photographic negative or shadow. SolarFast dyes are great for painting, screen printing, stamping, and more. No heat setting or chemical fixing is necessary.
The dye leaves fabric completely soft to the touch, and on paper, it has zero relief and will not affect the texture of the surface whatsoever, making it a powerful tool for mixed media arts. Use on all-natural fibres, including cotton, linen, canvas, silk, wood, rag papers and more.
