Cyanotype printing is an accessible, at-home, alternative photographic process. First developed in the mid-1800’s, Cyanotypes are distinctive for their rich blue colour.
Harness the power of the sun to make detailed prints from virtually any object that casts a shadow such as tools, toys, plants, leaves, stones, sand etc. Simply place the object on the sensitized surface and expose it to sunlight (UV). Use a digitally printed photographic negative instead of an object to create full-resolution photographs on paper or fabric.
Great for photographers, mixed media artists, printmakers, quilters, kids and more. This set contains enough chemistry to make approximately 65 – 8″x 10″ prints on paper, or 50 – 8″ x 10″ on fabric.
Can be used on any natural fibre/porous surface, including cotton, linen, silk, canvas, paper, wood and leather.
Set includes 2 x 0.8 oz/22.68 g bottles (1 each of the following):
- Part A: Potassium Ferricyanide—A red iron salt used with Ferric Ammonium Citrate for cyanotype.
- Part B: Ferric Ammonium Citrate—A light-sensitive iron salt used with Potassium Ferricyanide for cyanotype.
