Introduction to B&W Darkroom Printing – 5 Hours

Have you ever wanted to learn how to make your darkroom print but weren’t sure where to start? It can be a very daunting process, and this workshop is aimed at photographers of all skill levels who want to understand what goes into making a handprint and gain the confidence to do it yourself.

Time: 9am – 2pm Saturday. The specific date depends on the option selected below.

  • The theory behind darkroom printing.
  • The difference between papers.
  • Darkroom Chemistry.
  • Learning how to use the enlargers and timers.
  • Making a contact sheet.
  • Making test strips to determine exposure.
  • Making a final 8″ x 10″ print.
  • Using Split Grade Filtering to control contrast.

You Bring

  • 1+ Roll of already processed B&W 35mm or 120 Film.

We Provide

  • Paper and Chemistry.
  • Digital scans of 5 finished darkroom prints.
