We’re pleased to share that three new mounting options are now part of the lab: Acrylic Facemount, Dibond Mounting, and Lamination. All three have made the move from PCL to our new Morton Street home, and we’re now offering them under The B&W Box umbrella.
Mounting and lamination is one of those things that’s easy to overlook until you’re holding the finished print, but it makes a real difference to how a piece presents and how long it lasts. Each of the three options below suits different projects and display settings, and we’ll walk through what they are and where they work best.

Acrylic Facemount
Your artwork is mounted face-on behind conservation-clear acrylic with 99% UV protection, then backed with a sheet of either black or white acrylic. The result is a sandwich that creates a clean, contemporary look and really enhances the depth and detail of the print, especially nice with our Fujiflex C-Type prints. Aluminium hangers can be added at an additional cost for simple, secure installation.
Dibond Mounting
Dibond is a lightweight but rigid composite material made from two sheets of archival-quality aluminium with a thermoplastic core. It gives a smooth, durable surface that holds a professional finish over time. Aluminium hangers are also available if you want to hang Dibonds directly on the wall, unframed. If you’re going down that route, we’d recommend a laminate over the print to protect the surface. More on that below.
Lamination
When you’re displaying a print without glass, it’s worth protecting it from the elements and from UV damage. Laminating involves applying a protective film over the face of the print, which extends its life and helps guard against damage. Two finishes to choose from: gloss to enhance colour and contrast, or matte for reduced glare and a softer look.
